happier home schooling-day 22

One aspect of educating my children at home that I love is making ordinary things extraordinary.  I enjoy making a treat out of the little things.  Memories are made and cherished in moments like these.   These charming things take little effort, and feel so indulgent.  Much of what we do occurs during the colder months when we need little pick-me-ups.  You might try:

noshing on warm, buttery popcorn while listening to a read aloud

afternoon tea served in your finest tea cups and saucers with a fancy cookie while mom reads

having a school day in your cozy pajamas on a blustery day

hot cocoa by the fireplace while reading or working on math workbook pages

roasting marshmallows in the fireplace to make smores

snuggling with a kitten while working…a new one for us!

working outdoors on a bright, crisp day

listening to jazz or classical music while working on a project

crafts

building a comfy place on the floor with blankets to work or read
